UK Tour about to begin

Well, time for a holiday. Off to bed in a few minutes then up to brace 12 hours to South Korea, one night stopover, off to London, sprint across Heathrow and then hop on final leg to sunny Belfast International.

It will be good to get back to the Tayto Cheese and Onion crisps (they are the best in the world!!!).

Saturn's Polar Ice Caps Melting, Yeah Right!

A funny little flame war from the article i found on the web. People discussing the article from the BBC showing solar activity caused global warming to be nonsense (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7327393.stm)

jeff419

This is like the hundredth article from the BBC saying it's not the sun.
Hello?? The temperature of the planet changes throughout the year as the angle towards the sun changes, yet you don't think that a change in the Sun's activity might cause climate change.
That's why the polar ice caps are melting on Mars and Saturn too.

innocentbystander
The polar ice caps...
on Saturn.
Can I point and laugh, or would you rather just delete your post?

jeff419
Whatever. Other planets in our system are also heating up. That's the point.

innocentbystander
You just proved you have simply no idea what you're talking about, yet you continue the discussion.
Fascinating.
ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that the thing about Mars' ice caps melting being due to the sun has been debunked multiple times in this very thread.

jeff419

So it's the aliens on Mars driving SUVs doing it there?

innocentbystander
Wow. You present me with an interesting condundrum.
On one hand, you could merely be a troll.
On the other hand, you could, in fact, be so lazy as to not look in this very thread for the answers to the question you pose.
Either way, it reflects badly on you.
But then, since you never changed the Saturn thing, apparently you have little concern for your reputation.
Thus, you show a commendable lack of attachment to the material world.
Have you considered becoming a Zen Priest? I think it may be your calling.
In light of THAT idea, your current question makes so much more sense.
I am enlightened.

jeff419
I just have better stuff to do then educate someone suffering from a case of "invincible ignorance"

innocentbystander
And, in the end, just a troll. Not even a particularly clever one.
You disappoint me, sir.

Moss 2007 with SP1 together

Lots of people are obviously intending to install the office service pack 1 onto their Moss installations. However, what's the advice if you are (like me) creating a new multi-server moss farm and you want to ensure you rollout moss 2007 with SP1 applied?

Well, looking at the official documentation just didn't look like it was easily possible, and there was conflicting advice on the web around when to install SP1.

e.g. Configure your whole farm or just the SSP? Run the updates after the initial installation but don't run the config wizard? etc. etc.

This is until that is you realise that you can use the /Updates folder on the root of the Moss installation files, which is what the folder is for, to provision updates/patches.

So follow these five steps to Moss 2007 with SP1 install heaven:

1. Copy the contents of the MOSS 2007 CD to your hard drive (e.g. C:\MossWithSP1)

2. Download WSS 3.0 SP1 and Office 2007 SP1 (e.g C:\MossSp1)

3. Extract the contents to the Updates folder within your locally copied Moss installation by running the following at the command prompt:

C:\MossSp1\Wssv3sp1-kb936988-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:c:\MossWithSP1
C:\MossSp1\Officeserver2007sp1-kb936984-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:c:\MossWithSP1

4. Use ImgBurn to burn the C:\MossWithSp1 back to an iso or to cd.

5. Use this disc on all future new Moss farms you build to avoid the need to upgrade to SP1

Now why on earth didn't Microsoft do this for new installations and make it available on MSDN!!??
